These terms apply to hearcommunity.com. By using the site — including taking the hearing check or the Hearing Match questions — you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
What HearCommunity does
We are an introduction service. You tell us about your hearing and where you live, and we pass that to one independent, owner-operated hearing care practice near you so they can contact you. We do not sell hearing aids, we do not test hearing, and we do not treat anyone.
This is not medical advice
The hearing check and the Hearing Match results are educational. They are based only on what you tell us, they are not a hearing test, and they are not a diagnosis. Nothing on this site creates a doctor–patient or provider–patient relationship with HearCommunity, and nothing here should be used in place of an examination by a qualified professional.
If you have sudden hearing loss in one ear, hearing loss with dizziness, or ear pain or drainage, contact a doctor promptly rather than waiting for an appointment.
About the practices we match you with
Participating practices are independent businesses. They are not our employees, partners, or agents, and we do not supervise their clinical judgment, their pricing, or how they treat you. A practice pays us to participate and, when a match becomes a customer, pays us a fee — which is how this service is free to you. That arrangement does not change what a practice recommends, and no practice pays us to be recommended over another.
We choose the practice for your area. We do not guarantee that a practice will contact you, that one is available near you, that you will be satisfied, or that any particular result will follow. Any agreement you make with a practice — including anything you buy from them — is between you and them.
Using the site
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- Give us accurate information, and submit only your own details or those of someone who has asked you to act for them.
- Do not submit false or automated entries, scrape the site, interfere with it, or try to reach data that is not yours.
We can decline or remove a submission, and can suspend access to the site, if we think it is being misused.
Being contacted
Submitting a form is a request to be contacted. You agree that HearCommunity and the practice we match you with may call, text, or email you at the details you gave, about your hearing care. You can withdraw that at any time — see the Privacy Policy for how.
Our content
The text, video, design, and the HearCommunity name on this site belong to us. You are welcome to read, print, and share pages for your own use; please do not republish them as your own or use our name or branding without permission.
Disclaimers and limits
The site is provided as is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent the law allows, HearCommunity is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability arising out of the site or the service is limited to one hundred US dollars ($100).
Some states do not allow certain limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here limits liability for fraud or for anything that cannot be limited by law.
Changes
We may update these terms; the date at the top will change when we do. Continuing to use the site after that means you accept the update.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, without regard to its conflict of laws rules, and any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located there.
